Therapy Intensives in NYC and NJ
Focused therapy for individuals and couples who need more than a weekly session
What Is Intensive Therapy?
Intensive therapy is a structured therapy format that gives clients more time and focus than a traditional weekly session.
An intensive may be helpful when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, or unable to make enough progress in weekly therapy alone.
Therapy intensives can be used for relationship repair, communication issues, premarital preparation, heartbreak healing, co-parenting support, emotional patterns, betrayal recovery, or relationship clarity.
This format is not a quick fix, but it can create a deeper therapeutic container for clients who are ready to do focused work.
Choose the Intensive That Fits Your Needs
Couples Therapy Intensives
For married or long-term couples who need focused support with communication, conflict, emotional disconnection, betrayal, trust, intimacy, resentment, or relationship clarity.
Couples therapy intensives may be helpful when weekly therapy has not created enough movement or when the relationship needs a larger space for deeper work.
Best for: married couples, long-term couples, high-conflict couples, couples considering separation, and couples who want to repair or reconnect.

For couples who want a more immersive and personalized therapy experience, NYC Healing Center offers private couples therapy retreats.
A private therapy retreat gives couples extended time away from daily distractions to focus on the relationship, understand deeper patterns, work through pain or disconnection, and create a clearer path forward. These retreats may be helpful for couples navigating betrayal, repeated conflict, emotional distance, major transitions, or questions about whether and how the relationship can be repaired.
Private couples therapy retreats are customized based on the couple's needs, clinical fit, location, and goals. Retreat experiences may include extended therapy sessions, pre-retreat assessment, a personalized focus plan, guided reflection, relationship tools, and post-retreat recommendations.
Best for: couples who want an immersive, private, high-touch therapy experience with focused support over multiple days.

What to Expect
What Happens Before an Intensive?
Before an intensive begins, we start with an inquiry form and consultation. This helps us understand your needs, goals, relationship history, clinical fit, and which intensive may be the best next step. Depending on the service, you may also complete assessments, reflection questions, or pre-intensive paperwork before your session.
What Happens During an Intensive?
During the intensive, your therapist will guide the process based on your goals and clinical needs. The work may include emotional processing, communication support, attachment work, conflict cycle identification, family-of-origin exploration, grief work, trust repair, relationship assessment, practical tools, and next-step planning. For clients who desire faith integration, spirituality can be included in a clinically grounded and respectful way.
