Our Approach

Therapy for the Parts of Your Life You Can No Longer Ignore

You may have spent years showing up — for work, for your family, for your faith community, for everyone who needs you. But somewhere along the way, something inside has grown tired, guarded, or quietly broken.

This is therapy for people who are done managing their pain from the outside and ready to address it at the root. We work with the whole person — emotionally, relationally, and spiritually.

Who We Help

Is this for you?

We work with women, couples, and individuals who are ready to stop managing their pain from the outside and begin healing at a deeper level.

01

Women Carrying Private Pain

You are used to being the strong one. You show up for work, family, faith, relationships, and everyone who depends on you. But inside, there may be places that feel tired, anxious, guarded, or quietly broken — heartbreak, betrayal, grief, trauma, depression, spiritual struggle, or the exhaustion of holding too much for too long.

This is therapy for women who are ready to stop performing wellness and begin experiencing real emotional, relational, and spiritual healing.

Couples Ready to Repair & Reconnect

You may still love each other, but feel unsure how to find your way back. Or perhaps trust has been damaged, emotional distance has grown, or the same conflict keeps repeating no matter how many times you try to change.

We help couples slow down the cycle and understand what is happening beneath the surface — rebuilding trust, strengthening emotional safety, improving communication, and reconnecting with greater honesty and intention.

Individuals & Couples Needing Focused Support

Sometimes weekly therapy is not the right fit for the season you are in. You may be facing a painful transition, a relational crisis, or a wound that keeps resurfacing. Our intensives offer focused, extended therapeutic support for individuals, couples, premarital couples, and other important relationships.

Intensive work is not a quick fix. It is a concentrated therapeutic experience for people who are ready to engage honestly and begin meaningful change.

How We Can Work Together

Relationship Check-Up

Best for: Couples who are not in crisis but want to be intentional about the health of their relationship. Private-pay only — not billed through insurance.

Intensive Therapy

Focused, Dedicated Space for Deeper Work

Focused half-day, full-day, and weekend therapy intensives for individuals and couples who need deeper support than a weekly session can provide.

Intensive therapy is not a shortcut. It is a structured, clinically grounded experience that creates the time, space, and focus needed for meaningful therapeutic movement — especially when the work calls for something more than fifty minutes once a week.

Half-day intensives (3–4 hours) for focused individual or couples work
Full-day intensives (6–7 hours) for deeper relational repair and trauma processing
Weekend intensives (two days) for couples in acute distress or preparing for a major life transition
Available in person in Brooklyn and Manhattan

Intensive sessions are private-pay services and are not billed through insurance. Each intensive is structured collaboratively in advance so the time feels purposeful and well-supported.

"Sometimes the healing you need is not a conversation stretched over months — it is one deeply held container of time where you are finally met with enough space to go all the way in."

Who intensives are designed for

Couples in relational crisis or navigating a painful rupture
Individuals processing a painful life transition or unresolved trauma
Premarital couples who want intentional, meaningful preparation
Clients seeking focused work between or alongside weekly sessions

Questions

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about starting therapy at NYC Healing Center.

AEDP — Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy — is an attachment-based, experiential therapy model developed by Dr. Diana Fosha. It focuses on healing emotional pain through secure, compassionate connection and the processing of emotion in the present moment. Rather than only talking about what happened, AEDP helps clients notice what is happening inside as they share their story, process emotion safely, and experience new ways of relating to themselves and others. This approach can be especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, heartbreak, and relational wounds.
No. We work with clients who value faith, spirituality, and meaning as part of their healing process — and those who do not. Faith is welcome, but never forced. We will not impose a theological framework. We will honor the role faith already plays in your life and, when desired, thoughtfully integrate it into the therapeutic process.
Yes. Virtual therapy is available to clients throughout New York State and New Jersey through secure telehealth. In-person intensive sessions are available in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Intensives are extended therapy sessions designed for focused, concentrated work. They may be offered as half-day (3–4 hours), full-day (6–7 hours), or weekend (two days) experiences, depending on your needs. Intensives are especially useful for couples in distress, individuals navigating a painful transition, or clients who want dedicated space to work through something deeply. Each intensive is structured collaboratively in advance so the time feels purposeful, contained, and well-supported.
Yes. NYC Healing Center is in network with Aetna and Cigna for eligible standard therapy services. We recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning therapy to understand your benefits, copay, deductible, and coverage. Please note that intensive therapy sessions and relationship check-ups are private-pay services and are not billed through insurance.
The length of therapy depends on your goals, history, and the depth of work you want to do. Some clients come for focused support around a specific issue. Others choose longer-term therapy because they value the ongoing depth, accountability, and transformation the process provides. We will discuss your goals together and regularly assess what is working.
